Private hospital, which is great and the best in the city, unfortunately, they tried to take advantage of me as an immigrant and charged me 800 USD for something that is 50-100$ USD at most clinics. ( vaccine ) I got them to correct the payment because I speak Spanish, know the culture and games, but I would feel horrible for another person here on vacation or an elderly person who could not speak the language or understand how hospitals work in the DR to pay something so abusive. It could have been avoided if honesty and transparency were valued as a precondition.
