The psychiatric emergency department at Clínica UC San Carlos de Apoquindo in Santiago, Chile has excellent facilities, and I received outstanding care from the staff. However, I had to wait almost three hours in the waiting room because there was only one psychiatrist on duty, which is unusual for a high-level private clinic. Another negative point is that they required a USD 10,000 deposit for hospitalization, an excessive amount considering that I had international health insurance.

Rude, insultingly expensive. Pretty fast (for Chile standards) to get you in, but then forget about you for hours. Very clean
